Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the warranty on my new vehicle?
Warranty periods vary by brand. Most manufacturers offer between 1-5 years of coverage. See the Warranty Coverage section above for specific brand details.
Is the warranty transferable if I sell my vehicle?
Many manufacturer warranties are transferable to subsequent owners. Transfer terms vary — contact us for brand-specific transfer requirements and fees.
Does regular maintenance void my warranty?
No, regular maintenance does NOT void your warranty. However, failure to perform required maintenance as outlined in your owner’s manual CAN void coverage. Always keep service records.
Can I modify my vehicle and keep the warranty?
Modifications may void portions of your warranty if they cause or contribute to the failure. Performance chips, exhaust changes, suspension modifications, and ECU tuning are common exclusions. Check with the manufacturer before modifying.
What’s covered under the battery warranty (EVs)?
Electric vehicle batteries are warrantied against premature capacity loss. Most manufacturers guarantee 70% capacity retention for the warranty period. Normal capacity degradation over time is expected and not covered.
How do I schedule service or maintenance?
Contact our service team at sales@powerdriveessentials.com or call +1 (512) 360-8483 to schedule an appointment. We partner with certified service centers nationwide.
What if I need warranty service while traveling?
Most manufacturers have nationwide service networks. Contact us and we’ll help you find an authorized service center near your location. For EVs, we can assist with remote diagnostics.
Does Power Drive Essentials offer extended warranties?
Yes! We offer extended warranty and service plans for most new vehicles. Plans can be purchased at time of vehicle sale or within the first 30 days of ownership. Contact our team for a quote.
What’s the difference between powertrain and bumper-to-bumper warranty?
Bumper-to-bumper covers most components excluding wear items. Powertrain specifically covers engine, transmission, and drivetrain components. Bumper-to-bumper is typically shorter (1-2 years), while powertrain may be longer (3-5 years).
Can I cancel my extended warranty for a refund?
Extended warranties are typically cancelable within 30-60 days for a full refund, with pro-rated refunds available after that. Contact our service team for cancellation assistance.
